20 cent Ziploc containers

****This is a lot of rambling, but I was so excited to catch this deal!!!! ******
Actual 'deal' is bolded for those who want to skip my rambling:)

I have learned to clip every coupon that I would possibly use if I found a good enough deal. This leaves me clipping WAY more coupons then I would ever use, but I have it 'just in case'. So anyway, I normally purchase dollar store containers because they are usually cheaper, but this week I clipped the ziploc coupons out of the sunday paper and got a steal of a deal!! Here is the Deal:

ONLY AT O-STREET HYVEE (that I know of)
x-small to medium containers are on sale for $.88 ----I was told this is an instore sale, so it is not in the ads. Anyway, $.88 is a great deal so I picked up 3 of them. As I was shopping, I realized that I could make this deal better. Sunday's paper had 2 ziplock coupons in it. One for $1.50 off 2 and one for $.55 off one. So I used both of those and got

3 packs of ziplock containers for $.59

Free Deodorant at Hyvee

There is an coupon in the Hyvee ad that gives you Secret or Old Spice Deodorant for 99 cents.

There was a coupon in last Sunday's paper for $1.00 off any Secret deodorant. I also had two $1 off Old Spice deodorant coupons in my stash from earlier.

Since you can combine manufacturer coupons with in store coupons you end up with free deodorant. Nice

Remember you can only use one in store coupon per visit.

Hyvee Shoppers

I was at Hyvee, yesterday and they have some Children's books there. Right now they are all 75% off!! They are a steal. I bought a Winnie the Pooh book with magnets for $1.25 and a Mickey Mouse book on CD for 75 cents. They have many different books to choose from. I am not sure how long the sale lasts! Go check it out!

Hyvee Coupon Policy Change

Hey Everyone.

So, it turns out Hyvee has changed it's coupon policy as of May 14, 2009. You can read about it here on their site. You have to scroll down to find it. Here are some of the important points:

* Coupon values that exceed the price of the item will not be accepted.

Due to the unfortunate rise of counterfeit activity, the following two additional guidelines apply to Internet coupons:

* Manufacturer coupons that involve any kind of free product will not be accepted, including “buy one, get one free” offers.

* No coupon that exceeds $2.50 will be accepted.

Plus they have an in ad coupon for a dollar off 10 Dannon yogurts.

I got Hyvee's coupon booklet in the mail yesterday. I've only ever picked them up in the store, so this was a nice surprise. Also, I thought the coupons were a lot better than usual.

There is a Redbox code.(The code is 4Hyvee5 but it doesn't work until tomorrow according to the coupon--I will post it again tomorrow.)

There is also a coupon that was made for me: Buy 3 Tombstone Pizzas for $10 get one packet of Oreos free. I love Oreos and frozen pizza so much. This isn't that great a deal. Tombstone pizzas regularly go on sale for 2.50 a piece and Oreos are now under $3 dollars at Hyvee (I forget how much they are exactly.) But STILL, combining those products to create the illusion thatI am getting the pizza cheap and the Oreos for free seems to be directly targeted at me. I will probably use it :)

Hyvee Milk 1.99 a gallon

This was a nice surprise today at the Hyvee on 48th and O.

Skim, 1% and 2% milk is on sale for $1.99. There is no limit to how many you can get. I don't know how long the sale will last.

There is a sign by the milk at the Hyvee that says you can get a free Hyvee milk if you purchase 3 Kelloggs cereals.

If you buy 5 cereals you get 2 milks, buy 7 and get 3.

Here is a coupon for $1 off 2 boxes off a Kelloggs Golden Grahams.

It's not an awesome deal, but if you are going to buy cereal at Hyvee this week it's a nice bonus.

Hyvee Deal on salad blends

So, this evening I took Soapy (my daughter) on a walk to Hyvee to mail an envelope. I decided to print off a coupon from Smartsource.com and try out a tip from Chicks Dig Deals.

There is a 2 for $4 sale going on at Hyvee for Dole premium salad blends. I used the $1 off coupon here to get a Salad for $1.

Now, you can print off two of these coupons, but DON'T use them both in the same transaction. Here's why: When you buy just one you get a catalina coupon (this is one that prints off from the register) for $1 off two Dole Salad blends.

So in your next transaction, you use your internet coupon and your catalina to get 2 more salads for $2. So, a total of 3 salads for $3 instead of just 2 for $2!

Still have Huggies coupons?

Huggies are on sale for $8.88 at Hyvee this week. I just went in and bought 4 Huggies (size 3) and used my 5 dollar coupons. So...$3.88 a pack. This was at the Hyvee on 48th and O.

I thought they'd be out since the sale has been going on since Wednesday, but it turns out that Hyvee received a new shipment this morning. They have also restocked all their General Mills cereal.

Fresh Chicken at Hyvee

Hyvee is having a 20% off all meat sale. They are also having their chicken for $1.79 a pound for the next 3 days. So if you go and add the 20% off it makes the chicken (the fresh stuff by their meat department) $1.43 a pound. Can't beat that!

Hyvee Redbox Coupon

I picked up Hyvee's new coupon book today. It's not super impressive this time, BUT there is another Redbox code. Here it is: 315HYVEE. It's good through March 15.

This, combined with Redbox's Free Wednesday Codes for March means 5 free movies this month. That's cool.
